Oak Arbor

The cornerstone of the transitional services at Oak Arbor is the time spent working with residents to establish a solid recovery program that allows for increasing independence. The four-phase treatment program allows for step-by-step recovery at the individualized pace of each client.

Phase I, or months one and two of the program, includes the orientation and adjustment level of treatment. The goal of this phase is stabilization in 12-step meetings, sponsorship and full-time employment.

In Phase II, or months two to three of the program, residents begin to enjoy more treatment flexibility. During this phase, clients are employed full-time, have obtained a sponsor and are more integrated in the recovery community.

In Phase III & IV, or month three and longer, clients experience more independence. The focus of these phases continues to be on full-time employment, attendance at 12-step meetings and maintaining an ongoing relationship with a sponsor.

Phase V, The Cottages. Once clients have maintained a minimum of four months sobriety, The Cottages are the next step to transitioning back into the community. Located seven miles from Oak Arbor, Phase V is a less restrictive sober living environment for clients while still receiving adequate support from the treatment team.

Oak Arbor also provides an aftercare program for residents. This support group meets weekly and offers former residents an opportunity to address issues related to ongoing recovery.
